Teri J. Barkoukis, MD, FCCP, FAASM
Dr. Teri J. Barkoukis, MD, FCCP, FAASM is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Nebraska’s College of Medicine. She also serves on the faculty for Sleep Medicine Fellowships at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She completed her sleep medicine fellowship at the Yale University School of Medicine and received her M.D. from the Ohio State University College of Medicine.
Dr. Barkoukis is an editor of the board preparation textbook “Review of Sleep Medicine,” now in its third edition. She is also the lead author and editor of the 1st edition of “Therapy in Sleep Medicine.”
Thaddeus S. Walczak, MD
Dr. Walczak trained in neurology at Northwestern University and in epilepsy and sleep medicine at Duke University. He is currently the Clinic Medical Director of University of Minnesota Physicians MINCEP Epilepsy Care and an adjunct Professor of Neurology at the University of Minnesota. Through his years in practice, he has treated hundreds of school-age children and adults with epilepsy and seizures.
Dr. Walczak has a particular interest in epilepsy comorbidities and surgical treatment of epilepsy. He is board certified in both neurology and sleep medicine and has coauthored multiple original studies on the relationship between epilepsy and sleep.
Bryce Gammeter, MD
Dr. Bryce Gammeter, MD is board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He graduated from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine. He completed his residency in adult psychiatry and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry, both at the Sanford School of Medicine at the University of South Dakota. He is currently practicing at Avera Medical Group University Psychiatry Associates in Sioux Falls, SD.
Dr. Gammeter has post training experience in several areas of psychiatry, including inpatient care of adults, adolescents and children. He lectures at the University of South Dakota School of Medicine in the department of psychiatry as an assistant professor.
Dr. Gametter is also a professional puppeteer and has integrated the use of puppets in expressive therapy for children. Recently, he authored a 45-minute puppet musical titled, “Fisher of Men,” which explored the impact of divorce on children. Currently, he is teaching puppetry to at-risk youth.
Rizan Hajal, MD, FCCP
Rizan Hajal, MD, FCCP, is American Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Sleep Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. He received his medical degree from Saint-Joseph University School of Medicine in Beirut, Lebanon. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Nassau University Medical Center at the University of New York -Stony Brook. He completed a fellowship in Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at Columbia University’ St Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York, NY. He has been in private practice since 2005 at Pulmonary and Sleep Consultants in Sioux Falls, SD.
Dr. Hajal has been actively involved in sleep medicine since 1999, taking part in more than 20,000 sleep studies and diagnosing sleep apnea, insomnia and narcolepsy. With his double board certification from the American Board of Sleep Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine Subspecialty Board in Sleep Medicine, Dr. Hajal has achieved one of the highest distinctions among sleep specialists.
Lisa J. Stellinga MS, LPC-MH, CCDCIII
Ms. Stellinga is therapist who earned her Master’s degree at South Dakota State University in Counseling & Human Resource Development, and her bachelor's degree from the University of South Dakota in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Studies. She’s worked in related fields for 25 years including outpatient and home-base therapy, hospitals, alcohol and drug treatment centers, group homes and schools. She currently works with adults who suffer from insomnia, anxiety, depression and trauma as well as couples, families and children with trauma histories. She uses effective treatments, somatic processing, skill-building to help individuals find health and balance; she also enjoys public speaking!

Bhanu Prakash Kolla, MD
Bhanu Prakash Kolla, MD, is a board certified psychiatrist and Sleep Medicine Physician at Affiliated Community Medical Centers-Willmar Skylark Center in Willmar, Minn. He graduated from Osmania Medical College in Andhra Pradesh, India. He completed his psychiatry residencies at the University of Oxford in Oxford, United Kingdom and Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., where he also completed his sleep medicine fellowship. Dr. Kolla is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at the Mayo Medical School in Rochester, Minn. He is also a member of the United Kingdom's Royal College of Psychiatrists and the British Association of Psychopharmacology.
As a Sleep Medicine Physician, Dr. Kolla treats patients with insomnia, excessive daytime sleepiness and other sleep problems in the context of psychiatric illnesses.
Meghna P. Mansukhani, MD
Meghna P. Mansukhani, MD, is board certified in Family Medicine and Sleep Medicine. She earned her medical degree from Osmania Medical College in Andhra Pradesh, India. She completed one residency at Oxford, Kent-Surrey-Sussex, North West and West Midlands Deaneries in the United Kingdom and a second residency in Family Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. A Sleep Medicine Fellowship was also completed at Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Mansukhani currently evaluates and treats such sleep disorders as sleep apnea, insomnia, parasomnia and narcolepsy at Affiliated Community Medical Centers in Willmar, Minn. She also holds the title of Medical Director for the sleep center at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willimar, Minn., and Affiliated Community Medical Centers-Marshall Sleep Center in Marshall, Minn.
Riyad Mohama, MD, FACC
Riyad Mohama, MD, FACC is Board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Electrophysiology. He is a graduate of the University of Damascus School of Medicine in Damascus, Syria. He completed residencies in Internal Medicine at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, Cardiology and Nuclear Cardiology at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Brown Hills, New Jersey, and Electrophysiology and Ablation at the University of British Columbia Hospital in Vancouver, Canada.
Dr. Mohama is a Fellow with the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Physicians and a member of the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology. Since 1994, he has been practicing at North Central Heart, a division of Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Daniel Herold, RPSGT
Daniel L. Herold, RPSGT is an assistant Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and laboratory supervisor at the Mayo Sleep Disorders Laboratory in Rochester, Minn. Since 1987, he has been board certified as a registered polysomnographic technologist. Throughout his career, Mr. Herold has aimed to improve the efficiency and efficacy of sleep testing. He was instrumental in the development of new scoring procedures, a nasal CPAP education program for patients and digital patient data acquisition.
He has long been interested in educating students and technologists in sleep medicine. Outside of his responsibilities as an assistant professor of medicine, Mr. Herold is often presenting at regional, national and international sleep conferences. His topics have ranged from ECG interpretation and parasomnias to sleep lab business models and the responsibilities of RPSGTs within a growing sleep lab.
